Here’s some more information about the course and what you can expect.
Maths for Work is a practical two-day course using realistic examples involving hours, pay, payslips, budgets and travel costs. It is not Functional Skills Maths or GCSE Maths.
You'll practise working out hours and pay, understanding payslips, building a simple budget and comparing travel costs and times.
You'll work through practical activities with tutor support. Calculators and appropriate support methods can be used where suitable.
There is no GCSE or Functional Skills exam. Your tutor assesses the practical activities you complete during the course.
Your progress and achievement are recorded through ROMAN's Step2Skills Record of Achievement process. This is not a regulated maths qualification.
Your next step could include using your maths skills for work, further learning or exploring Functional Skills/GCSE provision where appropriate.
Yes. The learner course fee is £0 if you are eligible for a funded Step2Skills place.
No. You do not need GCSE Maths or Functional Skills Maths before applying.
No. Maths for Work is non-regulated Step2Skills Tailored Learning.
There is no external Functional Skills or GCSE exam. Your progress is assessed through practical activities.
