Essential Digital Skills for Work is a practical two-day Step2Skills course designed to help you feel more confident using everyday digital tools for work, job searching and online services.
You'll practise useful tasks such as email, files, online forms, portals and safer online job searching.
This is not an Essential Digital Skills Qualification or Digital Functional Skills qualification.
You'll practise using email professionally, adding attachments, downloading and uploading files, organising files and folders, completing online forms and using portals.
You'll also explore online job searching, passwords and account safety, phishing and scams, privacy and simple ways to solve common digital problems.
The course is practical and face-to-face.
You'll work through digital activities, demonstrations and realistic tasks with support from your tutor.
Activities may include sending an email with an attachment, completing a practice online form, handling files and searching safely for suitable opportunities online.
There is no external qualification exam.
Your tutor will assess the practical tasks you complete during the course, which can include email and attachments, file handling, forms or portals, job-search activity and online-safety scenarios.
Course achievement is based on evidence of progress rather than attendance alone.
Your progress and achievement are recorded through ROMAN's Step2Skills Record of Achievement process.
This is not an accredited Essential Digital Skills Qualification, Digital Functional Skills qualification or regulated digital-skills certificate.
You'll agree a realistic next step based on your goals.
This could include using your new digital skills in your job search, employment support, further learning or exploring a recognised digital qualification where that is appropriate for you.
Yes. The learner course fee is £0 if you are eligible for a funded Step2Skills place.
No previous digital qualification is required. ROMAN will check your starting point so the course is appropriate for you.
No. This is non-regulated Step2Skills Tailored Learning. It is not an Essential Digital Skills Qualification or Digital Functional Skills qualification.
No. You should never give ROMAN or anyone your passwords, recovery codes or multi-factor authentication codes.
No. There is no external qualification exam. Your progress is assessed through practical course activities and evidence.
