Course overview

Paediatric first-aid training develops practical emergency-response skills for people who care for babies and children.

What the training covers

• assessing an emergency involving a baby or child
• CPR and recovery position
• choking, seizures and severe bleeding
• shock and other urgent paediatric incidents
• when and how to seek further medical help

EYFS training requirements

The current Early Years Foundation Stage criteria distinguish emergency paediatric first aid, which must include at least 6 hours of face-to-face training, from full paediatric first aid, which must total at least 12 hours.
