Course Overview First aid is a critical skill that empowers individuals to respond promptly and effectively to a variety of medical emergencies. In paediatric settings, this is especially important due to the vulnerability of infants and children. This course is designed to equip learners with the theoretical knowledge, essential skills, and confidence required to handle paediatric first aid situations. From emergency planning and assessing a situation to CPR, dealing with fractures, shock, bleeding, and minor illnesses, this course provides a comprehensive foundation. Note: This is a theory-based online course. To be fully certified in paediatric first aid, practical assessment and demonstration are required. Please contact us to arrange the hands-on element.

UK guidance and good-practice context

Current EYFS criteria distinguish emergency PFA (minimum 6 hours face-to-face) from full PFA (minimum 12 hours); certificates must be renewed every three years.
